The Location

The breath-taking 360 degree view from the property covers five out of the nine provinces of Sri Lanka. A panorama of undulating hills and the southern plains dotted with lakes and reservoirs could be seen through the Beragala/Haputale gap. On a clear day, the Indian Ocean appears like a crescent of silver rimming the horizon on the south; on the opposite side one sees the famous Fox Hill at Diyatalawa and the rail track winding its way towards Ella, Bandarawela.

Clouds Holiday Bungalow, a five bedroomed modern design house sits on top of a hillcrest in Haputale, a small town nestled in the central hills of Sri Lanka situated 4900 feet (1500 meters) above sea level surrounded by luscious tea estates.

The 193 km drive from Colombo takes you just over four hours on a very scenic route. The journey time is reduced considerably if you start travel early in the morning. Haputale is a few stations away from Ella and can also be reached by train.
